PHOENIX, [AZ]—The U.S. Border Guard was among the last known groups of armed civilians actively patrolling the Arizona desert on the lookout for illegal immigrants and drug smugglers. Now that its leader, former neo-Nazi Jason Todd “J.T.” Ready, is dead in what police believe is a murder-suicide involving his girlfriend in a quiet Phoenix suburb, the future of his group has suddenly come into question. SAN ANGELO, [TX]—The Texas Department of Public Safety has added Paul Joseph Borreson, 56, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive list, and a $7,500 cash reward is being offered for information leading to his capture. He is affiliated with the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas gang and has been arrested 46 times in at least 11 states. All tips can be offered anonymously. Borreson, whose last known address was San Angelo, has a long history of criminal activity dating back to 1973. He is a known drug abuser, and has used multiple aliases and other falsified information to commit fraud and evade capture. View More>>

ANCHORAGE, [AK]—Prosecutors are painting three Fairbanks-area militia members as dangerous conspirators who amassed a cache of weapons and plotted to kill government officials. Attorneys gave opening statements Tuesday in the federal trials of Schaeffer Cox of Fairbanks, Coleman Barney of North Pole and Lonnie Vernon of Salcha. The men have been in jail since being arrested 14 months ago. The attorney for the Cox, the leader of Alaska Peace Makers Militia group, says his client would never plot to murder anyone. ORLANDO, [FL]—Law enforcement officials in central Florida have been rounding up members of a white supremacist group who were allegedly training with weapons at a rural Osceola County compound. The training was reportedly in preparation for a coming "race war." The group was also planning a "disturbance" at Orlando City Hall to recruit new members. The arrests of the 10 alleged members of the neo-Nazi skinhead group American Front, or AF, came after a confidential informant infiltrated its Osceola County chapter and shared information about the group's plans with state investigators.
