PHILADELPHIA, [PA]--When George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin, he gave neighborhood watches a bad name. A man named William Walters in Philadelphia has done little to improve it. Philadelphia media sources reported that Walters was removed from Northeast Philadelphia’s Tacony Town Watch earlier this year. The problem? He was recruiting for the Ku Klux Klan, according to the watch. He’s a Klan grand dragon, it reported. “We received information that Bill had been distributing flyers in the neighborhood trying to recruit new members,” the town watch president said. “And part of our bylaws state that members must promote harmony in the neighborhood, and we all know that harmony is

FORT BLISS, [TX]--Soldiers based at Fort Bliss in Texas joined a secretive group called 'Dark Horse', which one member explained "was to support and defend the Constitution, and was designed to fight alongside the military if need be, if the government 'goes corrupt." As first reported Monday, the U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals last month confronted several related cases arising from the Dark Horse organization. Two enlisted men had been convicted of, among other charges, violating an Army order by belonging to an "extremist" organization. Specialist Christopher L. Moyers and Pfc. David W. Oliver successfully challenged those convictions, as the Army appellate court concluded Dark Hor

GETTYSBURG, [PA]--"The only solution is an all-white revolution," said one of 10 Ku Klux Klan members during a klan protest rally held Saturday at the Gettysburg National Military Park. Held by the Traditional Rebel Knights of Braddock Heights, Md., the rally was organized to protest against black on white violence, illegal immigration and gay rights, among other subjects. The group also expressed opinions about President Obama, Jews and white supremacy. Using a megaphone, the klan protesters spoke to onlookers from a fenced off area in a field just north of Mead's Headquarters along Taneytown Rd. in the park. The group of protest observers, which varied from about 30 to 50 people – as som

NEVADA CITY, [CA]--In the dark of a January night, a Nevada County sheriff's deputy pulled over to offer help to a man parked on the side of Highway 49. The stop led to the discovery of two loaded guns in the man's pickup, and ultimately, two misdemeanor charges. Prosecutors offered Brent Douglas Cole a deal: If he pleaded guilty to one of the charges, he would lose his weapons but sentenced to just two years of probation and fines. Cole, 60, unequivocally rejected the offer, court documents show. Choosing to represent himself, he pleaded not guilty and filed nearly four dozen pages of court documents - some rambling and seemingly off point - in which he quoted the Second Amendment, alleged

FT. WORTH, [TX]--The death threats began, James Henry recalled, about an hour after the confrontation. “One of them said, ‘You’re going to wish you had a gun, boy, when I fill you full of holes." A 35-year-old former Marine, Henry was fresh from an encounter with an increasingly common phenomenon in North Texas: an Open Carry rally, where advocates gather in public places with semiautomatic rifles. Henry said he simply wanted to make a video of the Memorial Day demonstration by the small but well-armed crowd. Then tempers rose and some curses flew. He left, and before long, he said, hostile phone calls began rolling in. Thus far, Henry said last week, no violent action has followed. Bu
