POMPEY, [NY]--Vandals armed with a chainsaw ravaged the inside of the clubhouse used by a local fur trapping group at Pratt's Falls County Park over the weekend. They also set fires in two places in the building, but apparently extinguished them before they consumed the structure. The damage occurred Saturday night and was discovered by park officials Sunday, said the President of the 30-member, Independent Fur Harvesters of Central New York. The group has leased the building from Onondaga County for 20 years. La France estimated the damages would require $7,000 in repairs. There was also an undisclosed amount of damage done at a nearby park's maintenance building. He said he doubted the va

OLYMPIA, [WA]--Vandals targeted an Olympia Nissan dealership Wednesday night, causing nearly $100,000 in damage. Nearly two-dozen brand new Nissans spent Friday being repaired for smashed windows and significant body damage. Seven had slashed tires and at least 14 will have to be repainted. Sources confirm that vandals stole two cans of brake fluid two weeks ago in preparation for the attack. This isn't something you typically see vandals using, but brake fluid is very damaging and destroys a paint job in 10 minutes. The dealership declined to talk on camera but, along with police, say they've ruled out any potentially disgruntled former workers. And with no surveillance video, there are few

CHICAGO, [IL]--The lawyer for one of two California animal activists accused of sabotaging an Illinois mink farm and releasing about 2,000 animals into the wild last year said today he plans to challenge the constitutionality of the federal “animal enterprise terrorism” charges the men are facing. Tyler Lang, 25, and Kevin Johnson, 27, each pleaded not guilty today at the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse in Chicago. They were indicted this month on charges of conspiracy and interstate travel to damage and interfere with the operations of an animal enterprise. Johnson’s attorney, Michael Deutsch, told U.S. District Judge Milton Shadur he plans to file a motion challenging the constitutionality o

ALEXANDRIA, [VA]--Ohio man who says he is the keeper of the seal of St. Peter and immune from U.S. law was ordered held without bond Wednesday on charges that he issued hundreds of fraudulent diplomatic credentials to people who paid to be part of his movement. James T. McBride, 60, who is listed as a resident of both Hilliard and Dublin, Ohio, in court papers, will be formally arraigned Friday on charges that include causing the impersonation of a diplomat and producing false identifications. Prosecutors say McBride represents himself as the leader of "Divine Province" and promises people they can avoid taxes and debts if they pay to enroll in his society. HENDERSON, [NC]--The Ku Klux Klan is targeting certain areas of Vance County for recruitment. Two incidents of ethnic intimidation were reported to the Vance County Sheriff’s Office on Monday on Poplar Creek and Glebe roads. Officers said they are investigating for local links to the secretive society originally started after the Civil War to assert white supremacy, often using violence. In April, KKK fliers, placed inside plastic bags with rice, were distributed on Hicksboro Road.  More fliers were dropped off in the same subdivision on July 13. HIDALGO COUNTY, [TX]--The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office confirmed a militia group is in the Rio Grande Valley. We were told by Pharr police and the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office that they were posted up at Pharr Port of Entry Wednesday. However, we do not have the exact number of men that are down here and we are told there could possibly be more people on the way. The initial reports were about six men along the river in the Pharr area and they were armed with long arms. One property owner reported that the group asked permission to set up on the property. However, the individual denied their request because of the potential liability in the event that someone were to get hurt. One m

MIAMI, [FL]--A former member of the Black Panther Party who hijacked a commercial airplane and forced it to fly to Cuba nearly 30 years ago was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Thursday by a federal judge in Florida. William Potts Jr., 57, will be eligible for parole in about seven years, under the ruling by a U.S. District Judge. Potts returned to the United States in November 2013 after spending almost three decades in Cuba, including 13 years in prison, after forcing a Piedmont Airlines flight to go to Havana in 1984. BATTLE GROUND, [WA]--Anonymous posters on a site called Bite Back claim responsibility for vandalizing a custom meat cutting company in Hillsboro and others. Earlier this week, vandals targeted the truck at Ward’s Farm Slaughtering in Battle Ground by putting a corrosive chemical in the truck’s gas tank. Owner Terry Ward said the vandalism cost him thousands of dollars and he believes they were targeted because “we slaughter animals … for human consumption.” Ward said he didn’t realize at first his truck was vandalized, but noticed it wasn’t running well. Then he saw a website, Bite Back, that posted online notices about recent activity. The FBI is aware of the incidents and i

SENECA, [SC]--Residents in Seneca, South Carolina awoke Sunday morning to find bags of candy left by the local Ku Klux Klan in an effort to recruit new members with a piece of paper inside reading "Save Our Land, Join the Klan" featuring a man garbed in the hate group's iconic hood and gown riding a steed, carrying the American and Confederate flags. The candy drop is part of something the Klan calls a "Night Ride," a thrice yearly event aimed at recruiting new members by depositing literature on doorsteps in the middle of the night -- presumably Ku Klux Klan members believe their midnight visits will be interpreted as inviting rather than terrifying. ORANGE COUNTY, [FL]--An Orange County couple facing fraud charges got the attention of Homeland Security. According to reports, the couple claims to be part of a religious group called Sovereign Citizens. It took investigators seven months to piece together the investigation against Dexter Martin and his wife, Lelawatie Sookhoo. The investigation started when Martin got in a car accident and a Florida Highway Patrol trooper found Martin was going by the name Mushon Martin-Bey, and claimed to be part of the Moorish Religious Society. The group’s parishioners often claim sovereign citizenship, and change their names without filing legal documents, as investigators discovered in this case. Th
