CHARLOTTE, [NC]--September is National Preparedness Month and Charlotte has a new store for preppers. Carolina Preppers and Survivors sells everything you may need in case of emergency. It's the first of its kind in the area and it is supplying goods for what many refer to as the "doomsday preppers." Owner Ralph Broome says it's important to always be prepared. "It's more about having things, if an emergency occurred, even if your out broke down some place if you have a go back or a get home back or whatever you want to call it in your vehicle, if you have to leave, if you're stranded, you've got food, you've got water," said Broome. There are a couple of Army surplus stores in the region th

ARCOLA, [IL]--It's a Douglas County community that pays tribute to the red, white and blue.  One neighborhood battles symbols represented by red, white and black. A small Arcola home displays two large Nazi flags over its porch.  The owner won't take them down despite numerous objections.  He's protected by the constitution.  The right to free speech. A neighbor says she tried to talk to the man that owns the house but he would not remove the flags. Outside the home is a truck with “W.P.W.W.” lettering on a rear window.  The Anti-Defamation League says it stands for “White Pride World Wide” - a white supremacist slogan. View More>>

BLOOMING GROVE, [PA]--Eric Frein's Internet searches included how to avoiding police during manhunts, use law enforcement technology and survive in the wilderness. That evidence, retrieved from a computer, suggests Frein spent years planning an attack and retreat into the Pocono Mountains, a state police commander said Friday. Police believe Frein is still in the woods in Monroe or Pike counties, two weeks after he allegedly killed one state trooper and wounded another before fleeing into the woods. It had been nearly three days since police last spotted Frein, but they said they have no evidence to suggest he has left the area. Investigators  said the clues they have gathered suggest that

BLOOMING GROVE, [PA]--The delicate search for a survivalist charged with killing a trooper more than two weeks ago shifted slightly over the weekend in the dense woods that authorities fear may be booby-trapped, state police said Sunday. Police say the search area in the Pocono Mountains largely remains the same as the past two days but has moved slightly to the southeast. The search for 31-year-old Eric Frein entered its 16th day Sunday. Authorities believe they have Frein contained within a 5-square-mile perimeter around his parents' home in Canadensis. Frein, described by police as a survivalist with anti-government views, is believed to be armed with at least one high-powered rifle and m

MALTBY, [WA]--A bulldozer was stolen early Wednesday morning from a work site near Highway 522 and driven into the base of a power-line tower, damaging it but not bringing it down. The FBI has taken over the investigation. Anti-capitalism and radical environmentalist graffiti was spray-painted at the scene and on nearby structures, according to the Bonneville Power Administration, which operates the transmission line. Service was not affected by the incident, said Mike Hansen, a BPA spokesman. Snohomish County sheriff's deputies secured the site after it was reported late Wednesday morning. The case was handed over to the FBI because an important part of the regional energy grid was intentio

MCLENNAN COUNTY, [TX]--A local man is behind bars after sending a threatening email to a local television news station. The news station turned it over to the McLennan County Sheriff's Office. The man who sent the threat was also trying to get someone else in trouble. Investigators called this an unusual crime and wasted no time, getting to the bottom of it. Bill Ray Linkous was arrested Thursday for sending what investigators are calling a threatening email manifesto. In the email, Linkous claims a militia group calling itself "sons of reformation" has issued a bounty on the heads of McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara and District Attorney Abel Reyna. Then he goes on a tangent abo

RIO GRANDE VALLEY, [TX]--Several independent 'milita' groups, concerned over what they see as a porous southern border and unchecked illegal immigration, plan to block traffic on Saturday at several international ports of entry in the Rio Grande Valley. Militias have been flocking to the border since July in what the Minuteman Project describes as 'Operation Normandy'. The groups have been even more energized by reports that jihadist groups are using the border as a way to infiltrate 'sleeper cells' into the United States, a claim that federal immigration authorities have rejected. The Cameron County Sheriff is calling on the groups to stand down tomorrow. Two militia members were arrested o
