PRATTVILLE, [AL]--Fliers from a Missouri-based Ku Klux Klan group were distributed in Alabama over the weekend. The single sheets of paper, which could best be described as recruitment leaflets, stated that they were distributed by the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. According to the fliers, the group is based in Park Hills, Mo. The effort was for recruiting, said Frank Ancona, Imperial Wizard of the group. Local chapter members handled the distribution, he said. The Traditionalist American Knights have chapters in each of the lower 48 states and five chapters in Alabama, he said. OKLAHOMA CITY, [OK]--Though he told authorities that the devil made him do it, Satanists disapproved, after a man allegedly shattered a stone copy of the Ten Commandments last week. The man is accused of running his car on Friday into a controversial 6-foot-tall granite tablet of the Biblical edicts erected near Oklahoma City's Capitol. He then left his car standing, along with the monument, which -- as photos showed -- was smashed asunder through the second commandment: "Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain." He walked into the Federal Building on foot, where he made threats against President Obama and the federal government, U.S. Secret Service agents reportedly said.

HINSDALE, [IL]--A Westmont man accused of vandalizing a Lombard synagogue Oct. 21 has been ordered held on a $5 million bond. John White, 40, is charged with one count each of committing a hate crime, criminal damage to property, possessing a firearm without an FOID card and institutional vandalism, all felonies, the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office said. About 4:30 p.m. Oct. 21, Lombard police responded to a 911 call about a disturbance at Etz Chaim Synagogue at 1710 S. Highland Ave., a statement from prosecutors said. BUFFALO, [NY]--A wind-whipped fire Saturday destroyed a vacant building at Walden Avenue and Genesee Street that once housed the Ernest Wedekindt Funeral Home, and more recently, a mosque. The two-alarm blaze caused an estimated $250,000 damage, said Division Chief Patrick Britzzalaro. The cause remains under investigation, and the building was expected to be demolished. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were called to the scene about 5 p.m. and battled windy conditions. They continued to pour water on the building as darkness fell. COLD LAKE, ALBERTA, [CN]--Police in Cold Lake are investigating, after vandals struck a mosque in that city overnight – but Cold Lake residents quickly coordinated to remove the messages from the building. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) told CTV News officers first received a call about it at 6:30 a.m., and Sgt. Troy Hadland from Cold Lake RCMP said they were “treating it very seriously.”  The words ‘Go Home’ and ‘Canada’ were spray-painted on the front of the mosque, and both front windows were broken. ALBUQUERQUE, [NM]--Albuquerque police are on the hunt for the suspect who threw a Molotov cocktail at an Islamic center in Albuquerque. The incident happened between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Islamic Center of New Mexico. Police said the device did ignite for a short time, causing some smoke damage to the exterior of the mosque. As police put yellow crime scene tape up around the damage, members watched and already concluded the motive. “Some people just have hate towards the Muslims,” Dr. Rahman Emawy, President of the Islamic Center of New Mexicso, said. ELMIRA, [NY]--The Secret Service is conducting an investigation at home on Walnut Street in Elmira this morning after someone allegedly made a threat against President Obama. The house being searched is at 415 Walnut St. Officials were seen removing long guns from the home. Agents have also removed a computer from the home. BROWNSVILLE, [TX]--An outspoken member of the American Patriots, a group of armed citizens patrolling the U.S.-Texas border near Brownsville for the past several weeks, was arrested Monday on a federal weapons charge. Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested Kevin Lyndel Massey, 48, on a felon in possession of a firearm charge in Brownsville. Massey, who is from Quinlan in North Texas, was convicted of burglary in 1988, and was arrested Monday on a sealed warrant.
