MEDFORD, [OR]--A Medford man was arrested on charges of threats against the President of the United States and use of an interstate facility to transmit threats Thursday, according to a press release from the FBI. During the search of an apartment on Poplar Drive just after noon Thursday, federal agents found what appeared to be several pipe bombs inside. Jason Roos, 61, is being held without bail in the Jackson County Jail. Roos is one of two men who own the apartment, according to the press release. The other man was home at the time of the search, but has been released without charges. CHATHAM, [IL]--A man who allegedly amassed black powder and other bomb-making materials in a Bridgeton motel room this month claimed they were intended to make crafts, but he spoke of a hatred for President Barack Obama and told police Hitler was right, court documents show. Douglas Herr, 44, of Chatham, Ill., was charged in St. Louis County Circuit Court with one count of unlawful possession, transport, manufacture, repair or sale of an illegal weapon. A federal agent said that although black powder is not considered a high explosive, the 25 pounds found in Herr’s room could have done major damage to the building or made powerful pipe bombs. Herr had first gone to the Home Depot on Ap

BONNERS FERRY, [ID]--Federal investigators are trying to determine whether the arson fire that destroyed a Catholic church in Idaho was driven by religious or racial bias. the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating the Thursday fire at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bonners Ferry. St. Ann's parish priest is from Colombia and some of the parishioners are Hispanic. The church was also vandalized in February, and investigators are looking into whether the crimes are connected. The FBI says the crime can be prosecuted under the Church Arson Prevention Act if it was motivated in whole or part by an offender's bias against a race or religion. CHARLOTTE, [NC]--A raid that uncovered a bunker full of firearms on a property in Cleveland County is another sign that anti-government rhetoric is on the rise, law enforcement experts said. Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker said there has been a resurgence of anti-government groups across the nation. Prosecutors have called Reuben DeHaan a "sovereign citizen" and said he didn't believe that he was required to pay taxes. Attorneys filed charges against him for tax evasion. A search of his property April 21 turned up about 80 guns and a fortified underground bunker. Federal prosecutors filed additional charges on April 22 and said some of the guns were illegal. HOUSTON, [TX]--A Houston man  believed to be a member of one of the nation's largest white supremacist prison gangs has been named to the state's Most Wanted Fugitives list. A reward of up to $7,500 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of  Danny Ray Ferguson Jr, 39, who authorities said is a member of the Aryan Circle. The gang is one of five white supremacist prison gangs operating in Texas and is one of the largest such gangs in the country, the Anti-Defamation League noted in a recent report. Ferguson, who is also known as "Outlaw" or "Danny Ray" and has a tattoo of a swastika on the side of his neck, was most recently convicted of assaulting a family member

PRESCOTT, [AZ]--Randall and Jennifer Skates, accused of moving into and occupying a $900,000 bank-owned home and claiming it as their own, told a Superior Court Judge on Monday, April 25, that they did not recognize the court’s authority over them. They were arrested April 12 after an investigation found that they had been living in the home in the 2100 block of Chickadee Creek Place, and had filed a deed which they apparently believed made the house theirs, a police spokeswoman said. The Skateses, according to Prescott Police, “ascribe to a set of beliefs often described as the ‘Sovereign Citizen Movement.’” Randall, 37, denied being a part of that movement in an interview with

LONGMONT, [CO]--A convicted murder who was arrested in Longmont last year on charges he pulled a knife on a woman was arrested again on Monday after police say he went to the same woman's house again and refused to leave. Roy Gene Seagraves, Jr., 55, faces stalking, burglary, intimidating a witness and violation of a protective order and bond conditions charges in connection with the Monday night incident. Police say Seagraves is a member of the 211 Crew, a white supremacist prison gang. One of its members, Evan Ebel, killed Colorado Prisons Chief Tom Clements and a pizza delivery driver, Nathan Leon, in 2013. Ebel was killed during a shootout with Texas authorities. HABERSHAM, [GA]--A man killed in a double shooting that led to a six-hour SWAT standoff Tuesday in Habersham County has been identified as 32-year-old Jesse Robert Looney. The standoff ended with the arrest of a man law enforcement officials know as anti-government activist Tommy Savage. Savage, 56, is the father of a college-aged daughter who was convicted of making pipe bombs in 2012. Savage had been holed up inside a home in the 1000 block of Garrison Road following a domestic incident between Savage and a woman living at the residence. The woman left and returned with two men, who Savage allegedly shot. Looney was killed during the exchange. ALBANY, [GA]--There's new information on the man who died Friday during a tense standoff in Dooly County. The eight hour standoff on Nelson's Corner Road involved multiple law enforcement agencies. J.J. Harper apparently died after shooting at deputies following a domestic dispute. Harper was well-known as a member of the Ku Klux Klan. Twelve years ago, Harper was then the self-described "Imperial Wizard" of the KKK. Law enforcement confirmed Harper's involvement in the white supremacy movement. During the standoff, Harper told officers and various news outlets that "someone was going to die today". Harper shot multiple rounds at officers before walking back inside his home. Agents

AUGUSTA, [GA]--An armed anti-Muslim rally is planned for Monday morning starting at the Georgia Capitol and ending in front of the CNN center. The organizer, James Stachowiak of Augusta, Georgia, said he's protesting the U.S. government's immigration policies and response to the arrest of anti-government militants in eastern Oregon. In a YouTube video, Stachowiak said he was denied a permit for him to hold an armed rally at Liberty Plaza across the Georgia State Capitol. The Georgia Building Authority said it denied the permit on Feb. 10 because Stachowiak didn't provide enough information on the application.
