NASHVILLE, [TN]--Metro Police are investigating the killing of a horse in North Nashville as a hate crime. A family's beloved animal was shot in the head this week. Police have no surveillance video or witnesses, only a man's hunch that someone targeted his horse because of his family's religion. The family is not Muslim but practices the Sikh religion. It's a religion from India where men often wear a turban. The horse owner says he is often berated because of it. Unfortunately, Devinder Sandhu, the horse's owner, does have an idea why someone targeted him and his horse, "Ever since 9/11, because of my turban and beard, I've always been a target of taunts and swears. BURNS, [OR]--Winter and spring have passed since an armed occupation of a federal wildlife refuge ended, but its aftershocks are still shaking this high-desert region of Oregon, with activists setting up “Camp Freedom” where an occupier was killed and organizing a recall election this week against a top county official. The headquarters of the 188,000-acre Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, which was occupied for 41 days, is still closed. Down the road, at The Narrows cafe, saloon, shop and gas station, things have settled. Co-owner Linda Gainer said the business from reporters, occupiers, protesters against the occupation, and from protesters protesting the protesters, more than made u
