CARLISLE, [PA]--A Cumberland County father is behind bars after he made several threats against Middlesex Township Police while his son was being arrested earlier this month. Michael Filaroski, 43, of Carlisle, is charged with two counts of terroristic threats, persons not to possess firearms and firearms not to be carried without a license. According to court documents, officers stopped Colin Filaroski, Michael’s son, on July 9 after witnessing him conduct a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the parking lot of the Pike Motel located along the 1100 block of Carlisle Pike. HANCOCK, [MD]--A Hancock man was granted probation before judgment — but must also spend seven days in jail — after pleading guilty Tuesday in Washington County District Court to possessing a machine gun for an aggressive purpose, in this case an AR-15 converted to fire in fully automatic mode. Colby Garrett Keddington, 21, of West Main Street, entered the plea before District Judge Mark D. Thomas, who told him the jail time was "a shot across the bow" to encourage him to make smarter decisions. BOSTON, [MA]--A convicted Massachusetts felon was arrested and charged Tuesday for allegedly making threats on social media to burn down a local mosque and hurt Muslims a day after the Paris attacks, authorities said. Patrick Keogan, 44, of Wilmington was ordered to remain in federal custody pending a detention hearing on Thursday after facing a judge in Boston Tuesday afternoon. Although a plea wasn't entered, Keogan faces a criminal complaint alleging he made a threat over Facebook to injure or intimidate another individual. TAMPA, [FL]--A mosque in Town 'N Country caught fire for the second time in a month on Wednesday. Electricity was blamed for the first fire, but an official said the power had been turned off since then. The fire occurred at the Islamic Education Center on Rockpointe Drive. The first fire was July 17.  The IEC is one of two Shia mosques in Hillsborough County. The other, Madinatul Ilm, off Interstate 4, also had a fire last week, bringing the total this month to three. METAIRIE, [LA]--A criminal complaint was unsealed Monday against a Metairie doctor accused of drug distribution and threatening to murder law enforcement agents, according to the U.S. Attorney. Shannon Christopher Ceasar, 43, who lives in New Orleans and practices with Gulf South Physicians Group on Houma Boulevard, was arrested Friday. According to court records, Ceasar illegally dispensed and conspired with others to illegally dispense controlled substances, including Oxycodone, a Schedule II controlled substance. DETROIT, [MI]--A Center Line mental health patient is in custody after officers found 12 rifles and six pistols in his house during a search warrant Friday prompted by his alleged threat to kill cops. A citizen phoned police and reported the man told him he “wanted to do something big like in Dallas,” an apparent reference to the July 7 incident in which a sniper killed five police officers and wounded seven more people. Center Line police also are investigating the alleged threat by the man whose name is being withheld because he has not yet been arraigned. Police departments across the country are on high alert after several officers have been shot in the two weeks since the Dallas

GERMANTOWN, [PA]--Philadelphia police have identified the man charged after homemade explosives were found in his vehicle. 32-year-old Derek McKinney from the 7400 block of Gilbert Street has been charged with Endangering the Welfare, Possessing An Instrument of Crime, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Possession of Narcotics. The incident began around 9:30 p.m Tuesday on the 5900 block of West Champlost street in the Germantown section of the city. FAYETTEVILLE, [NC]--Fayetteville police are investigating bags containing racist fliers and rocks that were handed out in multiple city neighborhoods over the weekend. The plastic bags were filled with fliers that used racial slurs and encouraged people to throw the small, reddish-white rocks inside at African Americans. They were found in yards and driveways in Massey Hill, Hollywood Heights and Bonanza Drive, witnesses said. The fliers urged residents to contact the Loyal White Knights of the KKK hotline. The group is a Christian white supremacist and anti-semitic organization styled after the original Ku Klux Klan based in North Carolina, according to the organization's website. View
