BUTTE COUNTY, [CA]--A Butte County sheriff’s deputy acted in self-defense when he fatally shot a man who had threatened county code enforcement officers and brandished a gun at a motorist, according to a report issued by the Butte County District Attorney’s Office. The report on the investigation into the Aug. 22 shooting of 56-year-old Mark Aaron Jensen outside his home in the 1900 block of Durham-Dayton Highway was released Monday. According to the report, Jensen had made numerous threatening phone calls to a code enforcement officer as well as a member of the Butte County Board of Supervisors after he was issued a notice that the outdoor marijuana garden on his property violated count

LAS VEGAS, [NV]--Trial could take four months for Nevada rancher and states rights figure Cliven Bundy, his two sons and one other co-defendant accused of leading a self-styled militia to prevent federal agents from removing Bundy cattle from public rangeland, a federal judge told prospective jurors on Monday. Jury selection alone could take several days, Chief U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro told 49 people during a first day of questioning about their backgrounds, opinions and ability to impartially decide whether Bundy, sons Ryan and Ammon Bundy, and co-defendant Ryan Payne of Montana conspired to lead an armed uprising against the government. CLEVELAND, [OK]--Police say a 23-year-old Indiana parolee with white supremacist gang ties was cited last month (September 29, 2017) after admitting to vandalizing the Cleveland skate park. A tip from an employee at a local business put investigators on the trail of the man, according to police chief Clint Stout. The tipster said the man’s tattoos matched phrases shown in photos of the vandalism in last week's American. Stout said the tipster took note of the man’s name at the checkout counter and looked up his profile on social media. A shirtless photo on social media revealed more tattoos that matched the graffiti, he said, so the person called police. Stout cross-referenced the name
