LEESBURG, [VA]--The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Leesburg Police Department are investigating the origins of Ku Klux Klan recruitment fliers found by Loudoun residents this weekend. Yesterday evening, Leesburg Police responded to a couple of reports of KKK material found in plastic baggies at the bottom of driveways. Shortly after 9:38 a.m. on Sunday, residents reported that KKK fliers, two containing CDs, were found in driveways in the area of 39000 block of Catoctin Ridge Street in Paeonian Springs. At 10:56 a.m., the sheriff’s office was notified that more KKK fliers were found on various streets of the New Town Meadows community in the Town of Lovettsville. The fliers were found along driveways, near mailboxes and on sidewalks, law-enforcement officials say. All the fliers were put in plastic bags with birdseed and there is no indication any of the households who received the fliers were targeted, according to the sheriff’s office. Some fliers were similar to ones previously found between Jan. 13 and 15, detectives say. View More>>
