SALT LAKE CITY, [UT]--Police arrested a person of interest in a South Salt Lake shooting after a police chase that ended in Sugar House late Wednesday night. Morgan Dwayne Winger, 32, was driving a stolen vehicle with another passenger when the Unified Police District Metro Gang Unit spotted the vehicle around 11 p.m., South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller said. The officers stopped traffic, but the driver in the stolen vehicle drove off with police in pursuit. The chase lasted approximately 5 minutes and ended in front of a house near 1800 S. Wilmington in Sugar House after police spiked the tires, Unified Police Lt. Bill Robertson said. The passenger of the car tried running away on foot, but police quickly stopped him.
